The Queen's actual Brithday - 85 in 2011 The Queen usually spends her actual birthday privately, but the occasion is marked publicly by gun salutes in central London at midday: a 41 gun salute in Hyde Park, a 21 gun salute in Windsor Great Park and a 62 gun salute at the Tower of London.

Merseyside Federation of Homing Societies will be hosting the event that will consisist of three separate pigeon races The birds will be basketed at marking stations throughout the North West covering the areas areas mentioned above They will then be taken by transporter to racepoints approx 100 miles away 200 miles away and 300 miles and liberated to fly home it is anticipated that approx 10,000 birds will take part in these races The event will be licensed by the Royal Pigeon Racing Association of which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth is a patron
