So you want to Let your property for 2011 / 2012? Excellent.
Step 1 - Advertise
To advertise here, gather the following together.
- A short description of the property
- A longer, fuller description. Something that will sell it to your prospective tenants
- Number of bedrooms and reception rooms
- Some (up to four) digital images to be emailed to us (When you register, we will send you an email address). Alternatively, upload them to a sharing service such as Flikr and you can link to them that way
- Decide whether pets and/or smoking and/or children are to be allowed
- Price to Let for (not needed for registration, but for replying to potential Tenants)
- Your contact details. Observe all the usual precautions about giving out personal information over the Internet and it is also suggested that you use a disposable email address (e.g. a hotmail address) that you can stop using after 2012.
Now you can complete our online submission Form here
Step 2 - Sort the legalities
Whilst you are waiting for enquiries, you can get started on the paperwork. It is vital that you have an Agreement between yourself and your tenant(s).
For short Term Lettings for the duration of the Olympics you are normally going to want a Holiday Letting Agreement. However, if you are looking at Letting to an Organisation or for a longer period, you may wish to consider a Short Term Tenancy Agreement.
Download a template Holiday Let document from the ClickDocs website here (Select Holiday Lets from the Left hand menu). If you want an Assured Short Term Tenancy Agreement, this can be found on the menu as well as supporting documentation.
Check your Insurance especially as your standard Home insurance almost certainly will not cover you for Letting the property and you may need to pay a premium. ometimes it may not cost any extra - provided that the Insurers are aware (in writing!).
