We are organising for summer 2012 an exciting public exhibition of sculptures that celebrate sport which will be displayed as a sculpture trail over the city.
Thirty of the sculptures are already being commissioned from established British sculptors and will be cast in bronze at the Pangolin foundry in Gloucester.
Next year we will invite other sculptors based in the South West to be involved and to submit a proposals for a sculptural study. We will select 30 of these to join the exhibition.
We are also organising a national schools sculpture challenge which will be a Cultural Olympiad programme. The winning sculptures will also be on display.
During the exhibition just prior to the start of the Olympic Games we will arrange a weekend art festival which will involve a number of venues in Bath and will enable artists and schools to exhibit and sell artworks that relate to sport.
